The gypsy life is not for everyone, but it
is an old tradition that has spanned over centuries. Much of their traditions
have been a secret to the outside world, but always for a reason to protect the
people of the gypsy culture. One such set of gypsy parents that lived in
Romania, in fact, were those of royalty among the gypsy had a son that would be
Stefan Andrei. The young boy was the heir to the Romanian throne, but with
great power comes great responsibility. Stefan was given all that he would need
to understand how to take care of the matters of court and his abilities that
had been passed down throughout the generations. Stefan knew that he had a
great responsibility that had been placed upon his shoulders, but that doesn’t
mean that he didn’t make mistakes.
Stefan growing up made many different
mistakes that appeared to the court to label him the troubled prince. The
Romanian prince fought his magical abilities and thus fought for his stop upon
the throne. Especially when his parents had other children that wanted their
own glory. Stefan was the type of child
that craved knowledge knowing that one way towards glory was through the
knowledge that one had within themselves. He knew from leaders of the pass that
to become a great leader one must have great knowledge as well as strength.
Stefan was one that did not think that
anyone of his siblings would stand up against the fact that he would be the
next king of the gypsies. That was one flaw that he had and one that he would
later regret. Stefan wanted to explore
the world at least to see what was out there before he had to take the role
that his father possessed. He knew that he would have to become the Gypsy King,
yet at the time Stefan just was not ready. He had yet to explore the world and
see what was out there to understand everything that he would need to take the
throne. Stefan wanted to be a good king for his people, but to do that he had
to have experience with the world and a queen to take the throne with him.
Present day:
Stefan in the dead of night decided to leave
his home and family to explore the world. The young prince knew that there was
something out there that was missing from his life or someone. He traveled
without anyone knowing where he was going or anyone to guard him. This caused
him for the first time to be out on his own without anyone to protect him. He
felt it was the only way to truly become the rightful king. There was still a
lingering thought in the back of his mind that while he was gone one of his
brothers or sisters would take over the throne.
He knew his family and the population of his
kingdom would look at him fleeing in the middle of the night as he is fleeing
the responsibility of the throne. This was not the case because he had no
shellfish reasons for his travels. Stefan began to enjoy his travels both in
the daylight and moonlight. He enjoyed meeting people of all kinds and statues.
He learned about everything and everyone, no matter what status they were,
which was something that he could not gain behind the castle walls.
The Forgotten Romanian Prince found his way
to the kingdom of the Ottomans. He did not know how or why he was there, but
his travels seemed to bring him there. The Ottoman Empire was vastly different
than his kingdom. They had a different religion than he was used to and
something he would respect. He traveled through the streets to the marketplace
seeing what all they had for travelers. The kingdom’s people were kind and
showed him their ways for the most part. Stefan asked one market vender who
ruled the lands, and the vender told him the Sultan royal family. He found out
the family had been in power for centuries. This impressed him and Stefan knew
that he had to learn more about the family.
It did not take him long to find his way to
work for the royal family even though like them, Stefan had the same status. To
Stefan the knowledge of how this family worked was for the betterment of his
own people. One day as he walked through the halls, Stefan saw a princess that
drew his attention. “I need to know” he said to himself. He knew not how he was
going to do such a thing, but he was determined to do it. He was willing to
work his way up through the ranks if he had to. Stefan was determined to make a
life for himself and gain all the knowledge that he could while he was within
the kingdom.
Because he was new to the empire, Stefan
found his way to the harem not knowing that it was off limits to the public
especially to men that were not eunuchs. It was not that he was trying to be
disrespectful, but he was curious. Stefan walked through the harem not knowing
where he was going or exactly where he was located within the walls. He was
truly lost, and his curiosity got the better of him. The only other thing it
could possibility was if something was drawing him to the harem, yet the young
prince did not know.
