"Never Go Into Dad's Office"

Gage walked through the castle, nothing seemed as it should be.  He thought he heard a strange noise coming from his office.  What the hell he thought to himself.  His eyes turned obsidian as he quickly manifested into wolf form.  He jolted down the corridor to his office.  Indeed, someone was in there.  The door was cracked, a light was evident through the small space in between the frame and the ornate wooden door.

A sound of drawers being opened also a rummaging of his paperwork could be heard from outside of his office.  Gage stood there for a moment listening to the ruckus coming from within.  He wondered if Jack could be in there straightening up his things at first.  But why in the hell would Jack be in there in the middle of the night?  Gage pushed the door opened slightly with his nose.  Peering his canine eyes through the small opening.  He could see nothing yet,  he could only hear the sounds that had been resonating through the door before.

He listened intently, wondering if perhaps one of the babies had climbed out of their beds.  Sleepwalking? He thought, maybe but not likely.  Could it be Maks looking for paper to draw one of his very interesting pictures that he loved to draw?  If it was that young man would be in a lot of trouble.  The rule of the house was simple.  No one was allowed in Dad's office without him being present.  Gage shook his head.  The more he listened the more intrigued he became.  The more he heard his office being disrupted the more angry he became.  The fur upon his neck stood on end.  Now was time to see just what in the hell was going on in there.

Bearing his teeth then releasing a growl Gage barged through the door.  A shadowy figure stood behind his desk.  Gage hunched his back ready to attack this intruder.  Before he attacked he noticed a distinct familiar scent coming from the specter.  Who in the hell is that Gage thought to himself.  Why does he smell so familiar?  Gage inhaled the scent taking it deep into his wolf senses.  That smell.  He knew it, but why?  Gage's anger increased as he witnessed this man deliberately disregarding his presence.

Enough was enough.  Gage returned to his normal form.  He stepped towards the specter.  "Why are you  in my office?  Who in the hell are you, what do you want?  What in the hell are you looking for?  Gage's eyes still black as night, he growled low after he spoke awaiting the man to answer him.  The figure did not turn in his direction.  He simply ignored Gage's question.  To Gage's surprise the intruder continued looking through the contents within the drawers of his desk. "That is about enough.  Show yourself to me right now.  No one is allowed in here, these are my personal things.  You are not welcome here. I suggest you leave my office and my home right now.  Show yourself to me right now, dammit.  Do you hear me, whomever you are?"

The figure stopped in his tracks, a familiar sound of laughter resonated  through the office.  Gage knew that laugh, he had heard it before many many times.  He however, could not place who it was.  All Gage knew was that he somehow knew this person, whomever it was.  "Dammit, I have had more than enough of this nonsense.  Show yourself I want to know who the hell you are and why you are here going through my things.  If you do not reveal to me who you are, you will force my hand.  I will attack you.  Do you hear me?"  Gage growled again,  much louder this time.  He began to approach the man within full intent of a confrontation.

The man let out yet another familiar sounding fit of laughter.  Much, much louder this time.  As Gage approached the man, he suddenly turned to face him.  That face,  Gage knew those dark eyes and the smirk that was upon his lips.  As the man manifested from a shadowy form to a more clear appearance.  Gage stepped back.  His eyes widened.  Just who in the hell was he looking at?  The more the man shifted into a human form.  It became apparent to Gage just exactly whom it was.  But how?  How was he here.  Gage thought this man had died many centuries ago.

The man's featured softened, a devious smile appeared upon his face.  "Hello Gage,  This is my office, not yours silly boy.  What have you done to it?  Where are my documents, my things, what have you done with them?  Answer me, boy."  Gage's mouth dropped open as he finally figured out just exactly whom he was looking at.  It was his father King David LeStat.  But how was he here?  He was presumed dead for many centuries.  "Father, how?  How is it that you are here?  This is no way to announce your presence.  To come in here in the middle of the night without announcing yourself.  I am taken back as to how it is that you are here.  Don't get me wrong. I am elated to see you again, Tis' been too long. I was thirteen years of age the last time I laid my eyes upon you."

David looked at Gage.  I am here to warn you of something.  Yes, indeed I have departed the physical realm.  My time here is short.  You must listen to me, my son.  There is a great darkness that is coming.  Something so malevolent, you can't even fathom it Gage.  I am simply here to give you a warning of things to come.  Be mindful that a great darkness will be bestowed upon our family.  You have the right to know.  I am looking for a talisman.  A powerful trinket that will protect the LeStat lineage.  There are ones that do not like our kind, Gage.  They will come in large numbers.  It is only a matter of time.  One of your children has opened a door that should have remained closed.  These creatures are powerful, Gage.  I assure you of that.  They will come for you and your children.  In fact, they are already en route to the Black Kingdom as we speak.  That is the reason for my visit to you my son."

Gage didn't understand what David was speaking about.  "What creatures?  I have never laid eyes on this so called talisman of yours.  Where would it be?  Why is it that I have never seen it?  I know this castle like the back of my hand.  This item in which you seek is not here Father.  Not that I am aware of.  Unless you have hidden it somewhere in this large place.  Just what exactly does it look like?  What does it do?  Why is it important?"  Gage looked at his Father in anticipation of his explanation.  David moved across the room, continuing to seek out the item. "it is crucial that we find the talisman Gage.  Where did you move my belongings after my death?  You must take me to them now.  There isn't much time.  Do you wish to suffer the same fate as myself?  To be lost in purgatory for all time?  I don't even know how it is that I escaped the realm to come here to warn you of all of this.  All I know is I am here.  Right now, standing before you.  I'm not sure how long I have before I am sucked back into the hell from which I have been trapped in.  Think long and hard Gage, where are my things?  We have no time to waste."

"Never Go Into Dad's Office. Family Hanging Out"

Gage's inner demons made themselves at home in Gage's mind. Now under their influence, he was completely lost in their control. Memories that he had buried deep into his subconscious, were now dominating his every thought and his move. The memories that were suppressed by him were mainly unpleasant. As he peered into the darkness he was overcome by thoughts of his past. At age of thirteen Gage's father David had gone missing. Simply one day, out of the blue, he was gone. Never to be seen ever again, until tonight.

David had made a presence abruptly discussing impending dangers that were coming for he and his family. "What could possibly be so heinous that my father manifested to myself?" Gage remembered David's words about a door being opened by one of the kids, a door that should have never been opened. Gage tried to remember any minute detail regarding his children, none of them had ever done anything to put the family into danger with the exception of Damien and Alaric's stunt with the Catholic Church. He shook his head in disbelief, then ran his hands through his hair.

Gage left the Castle grounds then took to the streets of the Black Kingdom. His thoughts were malevolent, he was in a very darkened state. The thought of his Father coming back to pay him a visit, pissed him off to his very core. "That Son Of A Bitch left years ago, leaving me alone to repair the ruins of the kingdom caused by my Mother Ayumi. She had single-handedly destroyed the castle out of anger towards David taking up with a new wife. David left her alone and distraught he left her in the dust, she had her revenge, indeed she did, alright." Back then it was up to Gage at the young age of only thirteen to repair all that Ayumi had destroyed. He did just that, with the guidance and help of Selene Denali and the Black Kingdom Brethren. He was so full of hatred and dismay tonight he would seek out victims for slaughter to quench his evil blood lust fueled by David's return.

The alleyways were cluttered with vagrants, the type of people were seen but never truly looked at. Groups of peasants walked past him like they were rubbish. The lowest of the low, drunken and filthy people making homes upon the streets. Normally Gage would offer them a place of refuge, a meal and some currency to help them get back the existences that they had lost. Tonight was completely different. His blood lust was heightened by a heavy scent of human blood in the air. He deeply inhaled the succulent smell then becoming nearly intoxicated by it. Gage was famished, his mind was completely engulfed by an endless hunger. His cravings for mortal blood incarcerated every fiber in his being.

Gage walked towards an elderly gentleman that was sitting upon a tattered blanket, he was cordial and friendly. The gent began to make conversation with him. "Pleasant evening isn't it M'Lord, what brings you from the castle tonight?" Gage looked at him, the normally gentle vampire did not reply to his words. Gage laughed at the man who was sitting before him. The sounds of laughter were not his own. They sounded more like the way his father David's would laugh, when he was in a fit of amusement. Gage made a snide remark to the vagrant. "You should always be accompanied by another, don't you think?" He smirked. "I mean just to be safe. Don't you know there are veracious vampires, that dwell within the kingdom walls?"

Gage stared into the gentleman's eyes. When he looked into his oculars, they became obsidian as tar. Gage had entered the mans mind. He could hear the gentleman's thoughts. He could however, not sense any fear coming from his potential victim. Just to have a little fun with his prey, Gage projected horrible images into the mans psyche. After that, the mans fear level began to rise. His heartbeat increased, pumping the blood harder through his elderly mortal heart. Gage now had complete control over the aging sir. Smiling a bit, Gage gave a command for him to walk towards a group of women standing outside of a pub. He wanted the man to bring the women to the alleyway. Gage would devour them all once he returned with them.

The group came into the alley. The women were tending to the elderly mans needs. He had convinced them to bring him nourishment from the pub. As they began to give him their kind gestures of charity, Gage attacked one of the females. Using his long fingernails he slit open her throat. Her crimson life's blood began to pool upon her shoulder. Gage licked it off of her ivory skin. He savagely sank his fangs into her jugular vein. He gripped her firmly, so she would not be able to escape. He drained her of her life. Screams from the other ladies that had accompanied her into his trap, began to resonate through the township.

The sounds of their fright only made Gage more blood crazed. He quickly attacked one, then another and another. He ravenously drank their insatiable mortal blood. Gage saved the best for last. An old maid whom lived in this small town, a virgin, but not of her accord. Virginal blood was a delicacy to vampires. The pureness of the crimson nectar was the most delicious of meals that any vampire could ask for. Gage still in a fit of rage, lunged at her bringing her down to the street. She shrieked in trepidation, the sounds of her screams were like music to his ears. Her fright could be felt throughout his entire body. The more she fought, screamed and tried to get away, the more Gage enjoyed himself. He laughed aloud, then attacked the virginal maiden. He drank with a fevour, until every drop of her sweet sustenance was consumed. He then tossed her onto the heap of his other victims like a piece of trash.

Gage then turned his attention back to the elderly male. "Do not tell anyone of what you have witnessed here tonight. I will offer you lodging, a bath and a warm meal if you can keep this between us. Consider me a friend not foe. For I will come to you again. Your reward for helping me upon this night, is this." Gage pulled out a silver coin worth a substantial amount of money, then handed it to him. "Just remember if one word passes your lips regarding what we have done tonight, you too will suffer their fate as well. Do I make myself clear on this?" He smirked then walked away.

As Gage wandered, sounds of child's laughter resonated in his mind while he walked the bloodied streets. Gage's victims now lie like rubbish. The child's giggle was familiar to him, one he could never forget even in this period of darkness he was now in. It was the giggling of his daughter Winter. Among the laughter was the sound of circus music growing louder and louder in his memory. This music box type of background garble took him back to a time so very long ago.

In the dreamscape, he was walking with Winter, she was not her normal self, she was a little girl. Winter walked hand and hand with him down a dark corridor to the locked section of the castle. A forbidden section, that none of his children were allowed to enter. That day was a special day, it was Winter's birthday. Gage wanted to show her something very magically wonderful, something she would never forget. The visions in his memories, were extremely vivid. The lucidity of his dream, seemed like the events were all happening now, rather than all those years in the past.

Gage watched himself retract a key from his pocket. He smiled as he looked into Winter's tiny face then handed her an ornate platinum and ruby embossed heart shaped key. She looked up to him, he nodded yes. "You may open the door little monkey." He could hear himself say to his tiny little heart. As she peered at him with her smiling eyes once again, he could hear himself speak. "Yes, my heart, open the lock. I want to show you something. You will love what I wish to surprise you with for your birthday. You are grown up enough now to see what I want to show you."

Gage sat down upon the cobble stoned street. His mind was now transfixed upon the illusions of Winter and himself. He remembered things with complete clarity. He witnessed Winter take the key into her tiny hands, first observing it's beauty, then placing it into the lock. The mechanism inside made a deafening sound, amongst the dead silence of the darkened hallway as the key was turned. In one click, it was unlocked. Gage helped her with the doorknob, due to the fact it had not been opened for centuries.

The interior of the damp, dark and musty hallway scared Winter. She, with all of her might clutched Gage's leg, he knew she was frightened. "I want to go back Daddy. There's witches and monsters in here. It's scary. I don't want to be here." Gage smirked knowing once he would light the torches, she would calm herself. He picked up a wooden dowel wrapped in linen, that lay against the wall. He lit it with a lighter that he had brought with him. He ignited torches; they graced the walls one by one, as they made their way down the cobweb infested, barren hallway in the old section of the Castle LeStat.

They walked for what seemed an eternity until they cane to a doubled door. Gage looked down into Winter's eyes. "Are you ready little monkey? I know you are going to love what is inside of this room." He could almost feel himself opening the doors in this precious memory he was having. The doors were hard to open due to the longevity of their closure. Once opened, music began to play. A mysterious light illuminated the entire room. The surprise he had in store for his beloved daughter slowly came into view.

There before their eyes was a large antique merry-go-round. The horses on the carousel had been hand carved by a craftsman, then enchanted by a wizard, before Gage's birth. It was so breathtakingly beautiful. Not a speck of dust clung to the decorated gallant ponies. The room was void of filth. The walls were laden with mirrors three hundred and sixty. Their reflection was graced with the beauty of the child's ride. Winter walked towards the horses. "Can I ride it Daddy? Will you ride with me? Oh please, pretty please, Daddy?" He heard her say, then watched her jump with glee at the spectacle. Gage smiled then exclaimed, "Of course my tiny heart. This is why we are here after all.

Gage helped his tiny daughter upon a gallant black steed. He stood along side her, holding onto her, as the carousel began to move. The music grew louder as the horses began to move. The look upon his daughter's face was unforgettable. She clapped her hands in excitement. The ponies danced to the bizarre tune that played for what seemed an eternity. Winter's delight, however made it all worth listening to the awful song the merry go round played. She giggled as the ride went round and round. Gage looked towards the glass mirrors. He pointed out to his daughter that they had no reflection. She was mesmerized by that fact. Winter had never seen a mirror before.

The ride, finally had come to it's conclusion. Gage helped Winter down from the obsidian horse. Winter pointed out to Gage that the eyes upon the painted pony were brightly glowing blue. As Gage looked upon the horse, the tail came to life then whipped. He looked down at Winter then raised his eyebrow. "He likes you." Gage offered no explanation to the magical splendor of the pony. He simply smiled down at her, then they exited the special room. The doors closed themselves behind them as if by some magical force. Winter's mouth dropped open. She had never seen anything like that before. Gage laughed then said nothing. He wanted her young imagination to go wild with excitement and wonderment of the events that had just taken place.

They walked back into the darkened corridor. Gage looked at Winter, then picked her up so she were eye to eye with him. "Do you wish to see something else? I will take you to a special place. Very, very special." He watched the series of events play in his memory, every sound, scent and event, seemed as if it were occurring right in this moment in time. Gage witnessed himself and Winter come to another door. Gage reached into his pocket, then pulled out another key. He handed it to his daughter. "Go on my heart, open the door." He smiled as she turned the key. She firmly grabbed the knob then opened the door.

This room was different than the last, it was a child's bedroom, full of antique toys. A tattered teddy bear sat in the corner. Winter ran to the teddy bear, she picked it up, then clutched it into her arms. She exclaimed, "Can I keep him daddy? He is so cute. I love him, so very much. Oh please, pretty please, Daddy." Gage said "Yes you may, my heart. This is my bear. It belonged to me when I was about your age. I know you will take good care of him. You are such a good girl." Winter smiled holding the bear in her arms as she walked around the room. "Was this your room Daddy? Gage nodded then smiled. Winter's eyes seemed to ignite with delight. Gage allowed her to look around the rooms interior.

Winter came across an old cigar box of rocks that Gage had collected as a child. Inside were stones of various shapes, sizes and colors. She fumbled through them, then placed one of the stones into her hand. "Can I have this one Daddy? It is so pretty." The rock was obsidian, an ancient stone that had formed from a volcanic eruption many miles away from the Black Kingdom. Gage's father David had given him the stone many centuries ago when he was Winter's age with the respect that he would never lose it. The shiny black stone was special, David had told him. Gage never knew why. He simply always protected the gift his father had bestowed upon him. It lay in that box untouched until now. Gage looked at Winter. "If you protect it with all of your might and promise never to lose it, I suppose you may have it."

Winter and Gage left his old room, Winter in tow with her prizes, they walked down the damp hallway back to the familiar setting of the castle. Gage locked the door behind them. He placed the key into his pocket. "Never go there, Never Winter. Do you promise me that? It is forbidden. meaning it is a no no. You cannot go there ever again. No matter how much you liked the ponies, that place is dangerous. You would always need Daddy to go with you, if you ever went back there. Do you understand?" Winter nodded continuing to clutch the rock in her hand with the ragged teddy in the other.

Gage took Winter to the playroom. There were many arts and crafts items for the children to play with inside. Gage looked at Winter then began to speak. "Shall we do something special with the rock, so you will never lose it?" Winter looked through a drawer of trinkets. "Yes Daddy" she said. She pulled out a chain from the myriad of items in the crafts drawer. "Can we make a necklace for me out of the rock? A black necklace for your Black Princess for her birthday?" Winter giggled as Gage helped her fashion a necklace. She quickly adorned it upon her neck. "I promise, I will never lose it Daddy, Thank you, I love you. You are the bestest Daddy in the world." She hugged him tightly.

The clarity of the dream began to fade. He reached out his arms trying to bring it back. However, his mind went blank. The darkness that invaded his psyche was apparent once again. His blood lust still escalated, he walked the streets once again looking for his next meal. The normally docile vampire, was now a feral, with a voracious appetite for blood. His family seemed nothing more than distant memories to him now. He did not know if he would ever escape this conundrum he was in.

Gage combed the township for his next blood feast. Moving quickly, he found a group of people standing conversing with one another. He smirked, then laughed under his breath. He began stalking the masses, waiting for his chance to present himself. Gage coyly walked into the herd of peasants. He began to greet them all in a royal fashion. They were delighted to see him however, were shocked by his blood soaked attire. Gage snidely told them that he had been in an accident. No one believed him, they began to step back away from the Black King.

Laughing at them all, his eyes turned obsidian as night, Gage moved his hands at his sides into the air. He laughed as the peasants began to wobble to and fro, where they stood. They could do nothing, Gage had possession of their bodies and minds. He looked up into the sky, then opened his lips. Blood began to exit their bodies all at once, It flowed freely into his blood thirsted mouth. The shower of crimson sustenance was savagely ingested. Gage was completely drenched in the life's blood of the drained peasants. He dropped his arms to his sides, then the group all fell to the blackened earth in unison. They were nothing to him than lambs to be slaughtered. He walked away from the lambs, then searched for his next victim.

The abilities his Father David taught him as a young boy to fight off enemies, he was using one by one. These abilities were never intended for the residents of the Black Kingdom. Gage had all forgot the words of his father as he continued to lurk across the lands. Off in the distance he saw a female dressed to the hilt, she was adorning a full Royal Blue dress with full petticoats underneath. Her hair blonde as wheat. her life's blood was virginal. Gage could taste it upon his savoring taste buds. "Oh how sweet she will be, It would be a travesty for me not to indulge of her flesh." Gage used blood from his own body as a projectile. When she was struck, blood flowed from her body to fill him with renewal. Gage spoke to himself as the woman fell to the street. He licked his lips, as the last drop of her pure crimson nectar was tasted. The Blood Gout spell had been a success. He spoke quietly to himself. "Tis a risk, that I will be seen, yet the reward of my abilities are always a temptation to satisfy myself."

Gage approached a rather large group of his loyal servants. He needed to do something more drastic than a Blood shower to get every drop of their crimson sweetness into his hungered gullet. Gage tossed an ancient red stone into the crowd. This spell would lead all of Gage's victims into a frenzy, making them murderers of their own peers. He laughed as his subjects began to fight with a fury. Drawing weapons, at his will, impaling one another with a rage that could not be controlled. The hate among the group was going to end as a mass murder. Gage took in every drop of their sweet, sweet, elixir of blood. He smiled as their swords were pierced into one an other's flesh. They fought with pure hatred. The meal was satisfying to say the least.

This ability allowed him to exploit the petty prejudices of man. Minor grievance would escalate to murderous rage and oh, the sweet terror when the spell wore off and they saw their hands covered with their neighbor's blood. Then to witness them each perish one by one. Human's once known as friends were now nothing more than murderers of those they cared about. This only made Gage smirk, that the wickedly genius Inspire Hate spell had worked perfectly. Gage picked up the ancient relic from the littered corpses, then placed it into his pocket. He patted his jacket to ensure that the ceremonial stone was safely in place.

A woman appeared to Gage with a sharp demeanor. She seemed to be disgusted with what he was doing in the township. Gage did not recall the dark haired woman at all. He listened to her speak to him in a motherly tone. Gage looked into her ice blue eyes, there was something vaguely familiar, yet so distant, it went almost unrecognized. He listened to her words, then pushed her aside. "Do you know whom you are speaking to, woman? I am The Black King. It is my right to forage off of whom I see fit. Do I make myself clear on this matter? I highly doubt you even know who I am, or you would not question my antics, nor my authority. Now, bow to me. Or face a death so gruesome that it will be legendary even in hell itself." He snickered as the female lowered her head then left him to his own devices. He had no idea who the woman known as Selene Denali was, nor did he care.

Gage combed the township for his next blood feast. Moving quickly, he found a group of people standing conversing with one another. He smirked, then laughed under his breath. He began to stalk the masses, waiting for his chance to present himself. Gage coyly walked into the herd of peasants. He began to greet them all in a royal fashion. They were delighted to see him however, were gravely shocked by his blood soaked attire. Gage snidely told them that he had been in an accident. No one believed him, they began to step back away, frightened by the Black King's appearance and demeanor.

Laughing at them all, his widened eyes turned black as night, Gage moved his hands at his sides into the air. He laughed as the peasants began to wobble to and fro where they stood. She was adorning a black dress with full petticoats underneath. Her hair was blonde as wheat also her life's blood was pure as snow. She was a virginal mortal. Gage could almost taste her pumping crimson nectar upon his savoring taste buds. "Oh how sweet she will be, It would be a travesty for me not to indulge in her flesh."

Gage used blood from his own body as a projectile. When she was struck, blood flowed from her body to fill him with renewal. Gage spoke to himself, as the woman fell to the street. "Tis' a risk that I will be witnessed, yet the reward of my abilities are always a temptation, to satisfy myself."

Gage walked further into the township. He approached a rather large group of his loyal servants. Gage would need to do something more drastic than the Blood Gout spell he had just performed upon the virgin. He wanted to get each and every drop of their crimson sweetness into his hungered gullet. Gage tossed an ancient red stone into the crowd. This spell was called Inspire Hate. The crimson stone would lead all of Gage's victim's into a frenzy thus making them murderers of their own peers. He laughed as his subjects began to fight with a fury. They used their weapons at his will, impaling one another with a rage that could not be controlled. Hatred among the group would result in mass murder.

He patted his jacket pocket to ensure that the ceremonial stone was safely in place. He peered into the darkness, his next victim was walking toward him. He smirked as she got closer to him.

The woman appeared to Gage with an unafraid demeanor, she seemed to be disgusted with what he was doing in the township. Gage did not recall the beautiful, dark haired woman at all. She was decked from head to toe in Black leathers. He listened to her speak to him, with a motherly tone. When she had finally shut up, Gage looked into her light blue eyes. He noticed there was something vaguely familiar in them, yet so distant, it went unrecognized. Gage listened to her words, then shoved her to the ground. Gage snidely said to the mysterious female, "Do you know whom you are speaking to, woman? I am the Black King, of this kingdom. It is my right to forage off of whom I see fit. Do I make myself crystal clear on this matter? I highly doubt you even know who I am. If so, you would not question my antics, nor my authority!"

His eyes changed to the hue of obsidian, Gage's anger mounted even more. "Now... bow to me woman; or you shall face a death, so gruesome, that will be legendary even in hell." Gage snickered as the female lowered her head. He had no idea who the woman known as Selene Denali was, nor did he care. Selene stood up then glared at him. As Gage had requested, she lowered her head once more, then bowed. Gage knew she had only bowed under protest. He scoffed at her while she walked away disappearing into the black of night.

Gage walked through the township, still looking for a much deserved meal. His cloak was drenched in the blood from his prior victim's, while he walked, he thought to himself. "Cattle they are, nothing more. They pollute my lands with their filth and stink. The human's that dwell inside the walls of my kingdom, must realize whom they are dealing with. I am the Black King, I can do what ever I see fit. Tonight, my taste for their mortal blood that is pumping through their veins, is unsurpassed. I shall show them no mercy, for they do not deserve any." Gage smirked, then walked on towards town square.

Off in the distance he saw a large group of peasants, their laughing and babbling made him ill. Gage's thirst for blood ramp up even higher. In the gaggle of lowlife's was a blonde haired girl, she reminded him of someone. He did not care whom she was, he only wanted to take communion from her. Gage hid behind a grove of bushes, awaiting his chance to attack. The woman began to walk away from the group, she was dressed to the hilt. She gracefully strolled in a long, formal Yellow gown, her long blonde tresses moved gently in the breeze. "How lovely she is." Gage thought to himself.

The female walked swiftly away from the herd. She seemed intent to get to where she was going, she walked faster and faster. Gage wondered if perhaps, she had seen him crouched behind the pine shrubbery. Now, was his chance to dine upon her, to feast upon her elegant mortal tapestry. He sprung from the bushes, after she had walked by. Gage was ready to attack her. After he lunged from his hiding place, he noticed something about her scent, it was intoxicating, yet very... very... familiar. She walked with the grace of a royal. "Who is she?" Gage pondered his question, while he moved in quickly towards the girl, from behind.

Gage for some reason, couldn't proceed with the attack. Something was wrong... very wrong. Her scent had changed, the closer he got. Gage stood behind her, he placed his hand upon her shoulder, she quickly turned around to face him. The woman's face was even more familiar. Who is she, he asked himself again. Their was no fear in her eyes, while she looked deeply into his obsidian eyes. He heard a small giggle come from the girl's mouth. She was mocking him. Why wasn't she frightened of him? Her demeanor, really pissed Gage off. He screamed into the young woman's face, "Who are you? Why do you not fear me? You are not a mortal, are you?" Gage peered deeper into her soft eyes, then she began to smile and laugh even harder.

The vampire, slowly stepped away from the young girl. With lightning speed, he ran back into the tall grasses. Something about that female made his skin crawl, but what? He no longer thought about her. She was nothing to him, nothing at all. Off in the distance he heard her voice exclaim, "Daddy? Come back here, Father. Where are you going? Why are you drenched in Blood? You, more than anyone should know, it is illegal to feed upon the mortal's. It is your own law!" Gage listened to her. The girl's voice became more faint. He did not seem to know the young woman, although she seemed familiar. Gage moved through the brush, until he could hear her no longer. "Why would she have called me Father? I do not know, nor do I care, whom she is." He crept through the darkness, in search of his next meal. He left his daughter Peyton standing alone on the streets, not knowing, nor caring, whom she was. He did not remember her at all. His mind was gone, far beyond any retrieval. Gage was lost in an abyss of darkness and pure malevolence.
