The Unforgettable Fire, Revenge Is A Dish Best Served Cold

Many years ago,  The ultimate betrayal occurred against myself and my family.  One winter's night in December a tremendous winter storm was raging over The Black Kingdom.  Visibility was near zero making is difficult to see anything that was happening out in the elements.  My estate caught fire, the blaze was out of control in a flash.  I began searching for my children whom were all engaged in a game of hide and seek.  They were scattered throughout my large home.  Making finding them all extremely difficult.  My cousin Gage had allowed his daughter Alessa LeStat spend the night, due to a birthday party being held for my son Lyric.

I frantically searched for the children, none of them could be found.  They had just up and disappeared.  I could not find a single one of them.  I did not know where they had gone.  I knew they would have never went outside alone.  Not in the weather that was occurring, I knew deep in my heart that something indeed was very wrong.  A mother knows these things. Where were my kids?  Where did they all go and why?  They had disappeared without a trace.  I could not find Gage's daughter neither.  She was nowhere to be found.  I became extremely distressed then I called Gage.  He had the right to know Alessa was missing.

The inferno raged out of control forcing me to flee from my home.  The children were not outside.  They were simply gone.  Gage arrived at my estate quickly.  We could barely see the house that was now completely engulfed in flames.  The blizzard made it impossible to see anything at all.  We could hear a horrible sound of a child screaming.  Gage and I had no way to enter my home at this point.  The fire was completely out of control.  Was the screaming of the lambs caused by one of my children or was it Gage's daughter.  There was no way for either one of us to know.  We watched helplessly trying so desperately to figure it all out.  There was literally no way to enter my home.

The screaming was ear shattering Gage and I both knew one of our kids was in that house, that the child was dying.  Gage tried to enter the home due to the screaming.  The rafters came down in front of him.  There was literally nothing he could do it was too late.  The child was dead. The screaming had now stopped, all we could hear now, was the howling of the ferocious wind from the storm.  We would not know which one of our children had passed until the blaze was extinguished.  It was agonizing for the both of us.  We stood there helplessly holding on to one another, Gage and I.  It was the most horrible feeling in the world not knowing whether your child had died or survived.

The question then resurfaced in my mind,  Where were the others?  Where had my children at?  Why  did my home catch fire.  Someone was responsible, I could feel it in my heart.  A mother knows things, I knew they were not inside the home when it collapsed.  Why had my home caught fire?  Who was responsible?  Where were my kids?  I could feel them inside of my being, however I could not tell where they had gone, or why they were gone.  I had never felt anything in my existence more heartbreaking than I felt upon this horrible night in the unforgettable fire.

Once my home was completely gone, the remains of Gage's daughter Alessa were found. The eldest of Gage's daughters had perished in the fire.  He and I both were dumbfounded who could have done this and why?  We were informed by the authorities the house caught fire due to arson.  Who would do such a thing to me?  As far as I knew I had no enemies of any kind.  Why Gage and I?  We had done nothing to anyone to warrant this kind of assault.  All I knew was my children were gone.  All of them, taken by a thief in the night.  How would we find out who had done such a horrible thing?  There was just no way to know, no way at all.

The Unforgettable Fire, Revenge is a Dish Best Served Cold: Once upon a Memory

Blog Location:https://www.realmroleplay.com/view_blog.php?id=0000000145

Disclaimer: The mind has a way to protect itself. This is what Danya remembers. She is the youngest out of the sisters of Selene, therefore she would be around the age of some of the children. This is her point of view.

Being the youngest of the Denali sisters meant that Danya was around the same age as some of her nieces and nephews. The memory of her parents seemed to fade in and out. She could remember the smell of her father’s cologne and remember how her mother’s voice sounded when she sang her to sleep. Other than that, there were fading memories of them. Danya rarely spoke about the Denali parents because in many ways the older sisters took that place. The main sister that took the place of their parents was Selene.

Selene was always a mother to Danya even though that Selene had her own set of kids. Some of Selene's kids were the same age as Danya at the time of a great sleepover. Danya enjoyed being with her family and the sleepovers of the Denali family were known to be legendary. Danya felt there was no need in the world to worry, for she knew that she was protected like all there. She had her family, and that time was all that she needed in the world.

The night was long but filled with joy, fun, and togetherness. However, all things must come to an end and as Danya was getting settled in her sleeping bag something felt off. The dark-haired and blue-eyed beauty looked around and noticed something or someone. Amayah Lestat seemed to look uncomfortable. She couldn’t put her finger on it but decided to shake it off as she laid her head down upon her fluffed up pillow. She pulled over her eyes the eye mask over her eyes to keep everything dark so she could sleep. It felt like she was slowly falling asleep when something burning came into her noise. At first, she thought it was something within her own mind that was playing tricks on her.

The fire:

The smell became too much, and the sound of screams filled her ears. Danya knew that she was not dreaming at all, and she needed to move. She could hear her name being called in the distance by some ladies in waiting and other servants. “Lady Danya move!” they screamed with one running over to her and ripping the eye mask off her face. A gasp escaped her lips as she looked around and saw everyone running around. “Where are the children?” she asked standing up still inside her sleeping bag. “No time for that run!” The lady in waiting said grabbing her arm. Danya did not want to budge, wanting to find the others, especially the littles.

Danya felt as if her body was moving on its own as she was following several of the ladies in waiting that was around her age. “This way.” They said slipping through the halls like shadows. Danya had no choice but to allow the sleeping bag to fall as she needed to run as fast as she could. She looked around as she followed the ladies in waiting. Through her eyes, Danya could see that so many were running around. Flames were surrounding everything destroying everything they touched. How did she sense this, or smell this, or connect anything until being woken up. “Quickly.” She heard one of the ladies in waiting tell her.

Danya knew not what to do but to follow. She wanted to find her family and help; however, she knew nothing of how she could help. She became as if she was in flight mode instead of fight mode. Danya wanted to scream as tears ran down her face, seeing everything being destroyed and everyone running in fear. “Who did this?” she asked one lady in waiting grabbing her arm as another pulled up a secret entry way that was used by the staff and some of the family to get through the large estate without being seen. There were some secret passageways that only the family knew just in case of emergencies. “We do not know but we need to leave. Everything is chaos.” The lady said, pulling her into the passageway.

Danya nodded not saying a word only to look back for a second to make sure that everyone could get out. Which they could, however, just before she was going to go in fully something caught her eye. “What is Amayah Lestat doing?” she asked herself as she saw Amayah looking at a window that had yet to be engulfed in flames which probably meant she was using abilities to keep the flames back. This thought came to her since flames were around that area. “We do not know but we need to leave. She will leave in time.” They said as if they knew something. Danya sighed yet nodded finally walking through the passageway. The young women walked through the twisting and turning passageway smelling the smoke that was quickly bringing down the estate. “Where does this one lead?” she asked with a thick European accent.

“The garden it should be far enough away and if needed we can go deeper into it.” One said opening another door that lead to another part of another passageway. The estate seemed so large while going through them until the smell of dirt filled her nose. She knew that they were close to the garden, which was a good thing considering that a strong heating feeling began to come up to her back. She turned her head for a moment to look and see flames coming behind them. “RUN! The flames made it into this passageway. Run” They all began to pick up speed until making it to the door that lead out to the garden. The head lady in waiting quickly opened the door and everyone ran out closing it quickly behind them. “Hopefully the lack of oxygen within there will stop them.” One with light blonde hair stated.

The smell of fresh air filled her lungs finally and she looked up towards the estate almost fully engulfed in flames. “Why would anyone do this?” she asked feeling tears build ever more in her eyes. The noise of a train rang through her ears, and she turned towards the sound. “What is that?” she asked running towards the noise but after seeing someone putting some of the children on a train, Danya ducked behind a large bush. “Who is that?” She asked once more wanting to know what was going on, but suddenly pain filled her head as someone from behind her slammed something large upon her head. “Sorry miss. We can’t have anything happen to you.” A voice filled her mind as everything around her became black with only the noise of nature, the train, and the breaking of glass/crumbling bricks.

The Unforgettable Fire, Revenge Is a Dish Best Served Cold : Flashed in the mind
{Denali/Lestat storyline}

Disclaimer: This may not be my best, for I am still getting used to this character. Trust me: she is fixing to get more mental. The piece is written in the past and present eras.

Backstory:

Earlier that night:

It was a happy time where the Denali children got together along with some of the Lestats. Alessa and Amayah Lestat being two of them that she knew closely. She might have been a little girl, the youngest of the children there, but Amilee was a bright child. Everything was perfect and one could feel the happiness if they had walked into the estate. There was no hint of anything that would happen to miss it up. There was a high sense of family and little Amilee enjoyed seeing everyone who had come for the sleepover. She loved her family. Little did she or anyone know that it would all change in one night.

She was trying to stay up as much as she could, but her little body wanted to sleep. There was no fighting it in the end. She told herself, “I’ll nap then get back up like the big kids.” She walked off from the event just a bit aways but close enough to hear everything. Tucking herself under some covers on a large couch, Amilee drifted off to sleep. Sleep for the young one would only last for a short time.

The smell of smoke, the sight of flames, and the sound of screams surrounded her. The young one woke up scared and unsure what was going on. She looked around the room and saw many running around, the sound of glass breaking, wood cracking, and beams above falling. What was happening? Who was causing all this? She wanted her mommy. She couldn’t see her or hear her. The little one tried to keep up with the others and walked as fast as she could to the outside. The air smelled clean and fresh. This was different from the smoke and flames that filled her longs moments before. Tears filled her eyes as she saw the estate being consumed in flames. The little girl sat on the ground trying to gather her mind together so she could function.

Tears filled her eyes as she turned to see as each one of her siblings were put on a long train and then sent away. She was left alone and did not know what was going to happen to her. Deep sadness feels her heart and makes her little fill with confusion. Where was her mommy? Why wasn’t she there? Where were her siblings being taken away? “Mommy?” she thought for her mind looking around for even a glimpse of her. Though she was as young as she was, Amilee knew that something was wrong, and someone had done something to hurt her family. Sitting on the ground she thought that she wouldn’t have anyone to help her until she heard someone call her name. It was a man; she barely knew but did not fear him. “Your name shall be now Marian.” Though she did not know why he would say this, Amilee accepted her new name.

Present:

Night after night after she closed her eyes, Marian would have the same dream. The dreams were at times more vivid than other times. Furthermore, there were times when dreams turned into nightmares. But all centered around an event and the man who took her/raised her was Azazel. She did not fear him even now and her memories may have been a little foggy, she knew ever so slightly that he had something to do with the flames that happened all those years ago.

Her mind was broken and yet she did not wish to change who she became. She had fallen for Azazel and even took her place as his wife. He was there for her when no one else was and nothing would ever change that in her mind. Something deep in her bones told her she would have to take that to the fullest spot of life. Her mind raced as she sat in the bed until she could not longer take it. Slowly, Marian stood up and went to the bathroom, opened the medicine cabitnet, took a medicine bottle with her name on it, and popped them dry into her mouth. As the dark-haired beauty swallowed them, she thought “Please let the nightmares go away. This is my life and the distant shadows of whatever past shall stay.”

Sleep overs are always a step into girlhood that every girl experiences at least once. The last thing on any child’s mind is that something bad would happen and this regardless of what gender they label themselves as. All any child wants is to have fun and be with friends or even relatives that they are closed to. Sleepovers are only meant for fun, however, there always some sleepovers that something so devastating happens that it changes a child’s life. The best sleepovers are when there is snow and more so when there is a blizzard. The only other best ones are those in the summer. Amayah was such a child that enjoyed sleepovers in blizzards and in the summer.

Such was the sleepover with the Denali relatives. She couldn’t wait to be taken there and be able to join in the sleepover festivities with them. Everything was going to be perfect. There would be games, scary stories, girl talk, good food, and being around family. Everything was going fine until out of nowhere and just as her eyes were being to close; something caught her eye. Her crimson red eyes fixated on. It began as just a shadow in the distance, but the shadow began to turn into a silhouette and finally she could fully see it was her brother Azazel. Like every younger sister, she looked up to Azazel. He hung the moon for her and could do nothing wrong in her eyes. She would never think, nor would it ever come into her mind that he would ever do anything to harm anyone.

She opened her eyes fully and wanted to say hey to him along with ask him what he was doing. However, something within her body told her not to say anything, just wait and see what he does. Something told her not to even move or show that she was awake, yet why Azazel was her brother. Her big brother at that nor would he do anything wrong in her eyes. That all was about to change, as Amayah in her view of her brother. Everything in a matter of seconds will bring the realization that not everyone is good through and through; not even one’s own older brother.

The incident:

Laying there on the floor, Amayah closed her eyes in hopes that she wouldn’t be truly noticed. A slight scent of smoke began to fill her nose and her lungs. This caused her to stand up and walk out of the room where she had been on the floor. The scent became stronger and stronger till she could not almost take it. She coughed and covered her mouth as she got towards where she senses her brother. She did not want to just leave him if there was something wrong like a fire, but something in the pit of her stomach told her to flee. She should have listened to her gut.

She loved her big brother, but at that moment she saw him at the center of where the smoke then flames was coming from. “No” she thought thinking that he could not have started the fire. But he had, she knew it was him. “Azazel?” she said in a small voice like a little sister would say to her big brother. Her crimson eyes widened as she began to feel scared like she had never been before. She decided that it was best to watch from the shadows what would happen. She put a barrier around her to protect against the smoke filling her lungs to a dangerous level though they still filled ever so slightly. She followed her brother, hiding as best she could even her very own presence. To the young Amayah’s horror setting the estate ablaze was just the start of his evil deeds. One by one he loaded the children up onto a train till they were all aboard all except one. Amilee, the youngest out of the children he seemed to keep off the train.

The flames become too much:

She had watched her brother do such evil, but this never would even come to her mind. Watching him load each child on to the train, waving them goodbye, and taking Amilee away caused her not to focus on her barrier. The barrier lowered just enough for the smoke to come fully around her along with the flames. “Azazel?” she screamed banging on the window she had been spying on him at, but nothing was working to get his attention. She was still a child looking for her brother to save her. Saving from him would never happen and she began to realize that as her vision became blurry. Lowering herself to the ground, Amayah wanted except her fate of death. Everything she had thought and loved broke like shards of glass. Why did he do all this? Was he always going to? Why wait till now? Was there something else that she did not, see?

All these question filled her minds as she slides onto the ground and curled up into a ball. Perhaps she should die after all she knew nothing where the others had been sent to and there were others going to die in the estate as well. She closed her eyes until she senses someone coming, “Azazel?” she said softly thinking it was her brother coming to his senses and saving her. It was not him but someone who was nothing more than a gentleman. Raised noble and honorable, Sir Malachi LeStat scooped her up as if she was nothing and rushed her out of the house. Fresh air filled her lungs, and the saving of her life made her realize that she was the only one that truly knew what happened that day. Not everything will burn quickly or stay hidden.

Present Day:

Everything changed that day. Children loss their lives or were split from their family. Harsh of all the trauma that was left behind on everyone who was there. Amayah’s mind was damaged to the point that every other night when she went to sleep the night terrors would begin. She couldn’t even really stand the smell of that fires giving off and forget about staying over at someone else’s house growing up. Sleepovers ended that night and the secret she saw that night would forever be something she would keep. Every anniversary of that faithful day she sent her brother a little care package with the note “I know what you did. Flames didn’t burn those children you did.” Her life did not just go on. NO! She was damaged like how the flames damaged the home where the sleepover happened. The once safe place burnt to the ground just like her world.

"The Unforgettable Fire, Revenge Is A Dish Best Served Cold" Blog Entry.

The night of the fire at the Denali estate changed my existence forever. My daughter Alessa was gone, in the flash of a second she had perished. My sweet little girl had went out like a candle in the wind. That night will forever be in my memory. The sounds of screaming coming from the inferno have haunted me ever since. How does one go on when they lose a child? Tis' been many years since that horrible night. I have yet to find peace.

Conseiller Selene and I watched her home envelope into flames. The fire was out of control within minutes. All we could do was watch in horror. Selene's children had up and disappeared. Whom was responsible for the blaze? We didn't know and to this day we still do not know. Selene and I comforted one another for centuries over our losses. But as I said before, how can a parent overcome the loss of their innocent little girl?

For many years I mourned Alessa's death. What monster could have done this horrible deed? I will never stop trying to figure out whom was responsible for the murder of my daughter. How could I? To this day I am searching for her killer, the arsonist that started the unforgettable fire. I know this horrible person resides in the Black Kingdom. But whom is it? This is one question I will find answers for.

Selene's children began to surface one by one. None of them have began to tell their mother where they have been. I suppose it is a matter of time before they begin to tell their mother who had taken them and why? Where were those kids for the past couple of centuries? Who had them, why were they taken? So many questions flood my mind about that night so long ago. Questions, that have no answer. At least, as of yet. Selene is happy they are returning. She still is angry over the sudden loss of her children. At least, they are returning to her. My Alessa, will never grace my presence. Oh how I miss her.

The first of Selene's children to return was her eldest son Sir Balian Denali. He has yet to speak of that night. Did he forget? Was he programmed by his captor not to speak of that night? Selene questions her children often. As they return one by one, none of them will speak about what happened to them. We still do not know where they were. All we know is they were all separated. A family of siblings ripped apart from one another. How sad is that?

The Unforgettable fire ~ Remembering that fateful night ~

Disclaimer. Gotten permission to use Selene Gage and the claybury Institutes names.

Annabeth being at the age of ten at the time. Had no clue what was going on or what had happened. The Denali home blew up into flames. Hearing the dreadful screams everywhere. She knew that she had to get out. She had made sure to help get her siblings out. Azazael had kidnapped her and placed her on a train. There were women standing before her really frightened her. She had froze. " Where are we going?" She asked them nervously. They just stood there. Not saying a single word. Once the train had stopped. The Doctor from Claysburry Institute had found Annabeth wondering around the fire that night. She couldn't find her mother. Nor her uncle for that matter. Clothes tattered and torn. The doctor scooped up Annabeth. Bringing her to the Institute where he had done experiments.

She felt as if she had done the fire. That's what the doctor made her believe in. It was her doing. So she had to be punished. It was always foretold by the doctor. Annabeth had lite the house a flame. That she had no idea. Her clothes were burnt almost to nothing. She felt as if her life wad flashing before her. The doctor took her into a special room. Placing a white jacket over her torn clothes. And began his experiments. Annabeth looked around. She feared the worse. Was she in trouble. How did she escape. Were her sister and brothers alive. And her mother.

All these thoughts ran through her head. " We can make those go away " Said the good doctor. He placed a wet sponge over her head. Turning up the volume she heard the clicking noise. Cringing at the sound of electric volts going into her brain. Watching the doctor turning the volume up. She began to scream. She felt the electric volts running through her body. The moment she had let out a scream a shortage went through the building. She was scared. More scared then the fire.

" Let me out of here. " She screamed again as the doctor turned the volume higher. " This will only take a second. You won't remember anyone. " He said with a chuckle. He watched Annabeth in the chair. Squirming. Turning it up higher. As he could smell the burning flesh coming from her forehead. " There that will do for now. " He said. As he turned the machine off. Annabeth looked up at him as he walked towards her. Spitting in his face. " you will do as your told. " He growled as he back handed her. Her head hit the chair. Glaring at the doctor. " I will never forgive you for this. " She said to him spitting on him again. He leaned in the chair grabbing her by the throat. " You will listen to me. I will make sure of it. "

He said as he pulled away from her. Annabeth watched the doctor walk out of the room. She let out a growl. " I will escape from here. " She said to him. She already hated this place. She was ready to get out and find her way back home. Feeling every anger she had felt tonight as a little girl. She knew she would have nightmares. Annabeth hated the fact of her being there. She needed to find her mom and Gage. Her siblings

Sir Balian Lucian Denali Twin To Miriam (Brethren Of The Black Kingdom) M+L Sibylla BE BK SH HOD

The Unforgettable Fire Balian Talks To Lyric About His Sisters

Sir Balian Lucian Denali was born of Sir Michael Denali and Conseiller A La Reine' Lady Selene Lestat Denali, in the year of our Lord Ten Hundred and fifteen. Balian has twelve brothers and sister's. One winter's night in December, many centuries ago, Their family home was deliberately set on fire. Balian remembered the one whom was responsible. To this day, Balian could still see Azazel's smug smile and wicked eyes. Balian hunted every night in search of the heartless monster, Sir Azazel LeStat. If only Balian knew where Azazel resided. A heinous death would be upon him, slow and merciless. Vengeance would be Balian's, for his family and himself.

All of Balian's brothers and sisters were abducted along with himself, that winter's night the bastard took them. All of them were separated after they boarded a train harboring five strange women, with silver eyes. They took us far from the Black Kingdom and our mother Selene. Balian was told that his mother and his entire family had perished from the horrendous fire that engulfed their family home. Never once, did he ever, believe that. Balian remembered the train ride, all of his siblings were all upon that slow moving train with him. The lies told to Balian regarding his siblings were indeed a fabricated story. It was blasphemy. They we're not dead. Balian knew it in deep with in his blackened heart.

At a very young age he broke free of my captors. Balian traveled the world in search of his family, He never believed that they were dead, not any of them. Balian fought along side his blood brother Sir Gregory in the crusades. They fought for Christianity. Before the crusades Balian unknowingly, renounced God. His anger and blood lust had began to consume him. Balian set off to find his presumed, remember his true heritage

His heart was broken, consumed in darkness, most of all he was deeply full of hate. Balian was remembering his past the pieces that he came to him often and the one responsible for shattering of his family. In a remote village in France, Balian resided and worked as a blacksmith. He was haunted by his wife's recent death. Still angered by his painful losses, Balian had no idea how he ever began to reside in France. He knew in his heart this was not his true home.

A group of Crusaders arrived in the small village that He resided in. One of them approached myself, introducing himself as Balian's father, Baron Michael Denali of Ibelin. Michael, asked Balian to return with him to Jerusalem. After he refused, the Crusaders left. Shortly afterwards the town priest, his younger adopted blood brother Bryce Belmont, revealed that he had ordered Balian's wife beheaded before burial a customary practice in those times for people who committed suicide.

During the encounter Balian killed him. Balian followed after his father in the hope of gaining forgiveness and redemption for him and his wife. After he caught up to his father, Michael instructed him in swordsmanship. Then soldiers led by Michael's nephew arrive to arrest Balian. A Man named Godfrey refused to hand him over during the subsequent fight. Most of Godfrey's men were killed then Godfrey himself was wounded.

In Messina, Godfrey's knights ordered Balian to serve the King of Jerusalem, also to protect the helpless. Godfrey then succumbed to his injuries. On Balian's journey to Jerusalem, his ship was ran aground by a storm, leaving Balian and a horse with the survivors of the wreck. When Balian released the horse from the wreckage, it fled in panic. Tracking the horse into a desert, Balian was confronted by a Muslim cavalier and his servant. A fight over possession of the horse followed, Balian slayed the horseman, but spared the servant, asking him to guide him to Jerusalem. Upon their arrival in Jerusalem, Balian gives the horse to the servant then releases him. The man then told him his slain master was an important knight among'st the Saracens.

After being accepted as the new Lord of Ibelin by Godfrey's retainers, Balian soon becomes acquainted with the main players in Jerusalem's political arena: the leper King Baldwin IV, Tiberias, Marshall of Jerusalem, Princess Sibylla, King Baldwin IV's sister, and Guy de Lusignan, Sibylla's husband, who supports the anti Muslim activities. Guy is determined to rule after Baldwin's death and seeks to provoke a war that will allow him to dispose of the Muslims and claim the Kingdom for the Christians.

Guy and his co-conspirator Raynald of Chatillon massacre a Muslim trade caravan with the aid of the Templars. Saladin, leader of the Muslim forces attacks Kerak, Raynald's castle, to bring him to account for his crime. Balian decides to protect the villagers as they attempt to enter the castle from Saladin's cavalry. Though outnumbered, Balian and his knights charge Saladin's cavalry, allowing the villagers time to flee to the castle; Balian's knights are soon defeated resulting in their capture. In the enemy camp, Balian encounters the 'servant' he freed, Imad ad-Din, learning he is actually Saladin's Chancellor, who then releases Balian to enter Kerak. Saladin arrives with his army to besiege Kerak and King Baldwin IV approaches with his. The two rulers successfully negotiate a Muslim retreat and Baldwin swears that he will punish Raynald for his crimes. The exertion of these events cause Baldwin to collapse, weakened beyond recovery.

Baldwin asks Balian to marry Sybilla, knowing that the pair have affection for each other, but Balian refuses to be associated with the necessary murder of Guy. After Baldwin dies, Sibylla's six year old son Baldwin V becomes King of Jerusalem. It quickly becomes apparent that he is also infected with leprosy. Grief-stricken and unwilling to condemn her son to a life behind a mask, Sibylla gives him poison. Sibylla succeeds her son and names Guy King of Jerusalem. Guy releases Raynald asking him to give him a war, which Raynald does by murdering Saladin's sister. When Saladin sends an emissary to demand the return of his sister's body, the heads of those responsible, and the surrender of Jerusalem, Guy answers by decapitating the emissary and sending his head back to Damascus.

In council war is agreed upon "Because God wills it" and against sound advice they march into the desert away from adequate water supplies to fight Saladin, leaving Jerusalem unguarded except for Balian, his knights, and the townspeople. Saladin's army attacks the Crusader army near to the city of Hattin, and at the Battle of Hattin, the Crusader army is annihilated. Guy and Raynald are captured; Saladin executes Raynald, and then marches on Jerusalem, sparing Guy out of tradition but stating that he is not worthy of this. Balian prepares the defenses, challenging the Patriarch's advice to flee, and then knights a number of men at arms because "Making a man a knight, makes him a better fighter." Knowing they cannot defeat the Saracens, they hope hold their enemies off long enough for the Saracens to offer terms, after three days and having proven their resolve, Saladin offers terms. Balian surrenders Jerusalem when Saladin offers all the inhabitants safe passage to Christian lands.

Balian points out that when the Crusaders conquered Jerusalem a hundred years previously, they massacred the Muslim inhabitants, but Saladin assures him that he is "not those men". Saladin Guy back to Jerusalem where Balian encounters him in a fight. Balian tells him "When you rise again, if you rise again, rise a knight." As he returns to the city, Balian must step around the bodies of the dead. After he tells the inhabitants Saladin's terms, he says "If this is the kingdom of heaven, let God do with it what he will". He then encounters Sybilla & tells her that her brother's kingdom was in his head and heart, and that can never be lost. When she says she is also queen of several other lands, he tells her to stop being a queen then he will come to her.

Sibylla then renounced her claim as Queen of Jerusalem and other cities. Saladin's forces to destroy many of the Christian books and replace the cross on the top of the church with a crescent. Privately, Saladin is shown refusing to step on the stones carved with crucifixes, and later picks up a cross then gently put it back on the table. Imad returns the horse to Balian, saying it was not a good horse anyway and asks him if God didn't love him, how could he have accomplished so much. They wish each other peace in the other's language.

Balian returned to his village in France with a column of English knights ride through looking for Balian, defender of Jerusalem. Balian replies that he is the blacksmith, and the man identifies himself as King Richard I of England, and they are commencing a new Crusade to retake Jerusalem from Saladin. Balian responds that he is still the blacksmith and Richard rides off. Balian is joined by Sybilla, they passed by the grave of Balian's first wife. They ride towards a new life together. A year later Balian and Sybilla became man and wife.

Balian had learned of his unknown powers that he possessed. On the battlefield, he healed a comrade that was a good friend. Balian knew then he was not a human. He did not know how he had saved his life and how his wounds had healed themselves. Balian would find out much later on, that he was a hybrid creature part wolf and part vampire. The bite he had inflictedf upon his comrade had fully restored his health.
An elder vampire named Vlad LeStat, told Balian about his mother Selene Denali. Vlad began to tell the vicious story he had heard over the years, about the Denali Family, his family. Vlad told Balian that the Lady Selene was still alive. He said that Lady Selene was lonely and desperate. That she was residing in the Black Kingdom. Balian and his wife Sybilla went through The Black Kingdom after the elder Vlad and their conversation. Balian knew in his heart that Selene Denali was his mother. Balian and Sybilla left Vlad's home without haste, in hopes of finding Selene Denali. This woman, his blood mother that he did not remember. Would Selene know him? Would she remember him?

A man with gentle eyes approached them. Balian and his wife and son stopped the galliant horses upon which they were riding. Balian listened to the stranger's story. His name was Lyric Denali, He had the same surname as himself. Lyric told Balian that he was his younger brother. Balian learned from Lyric that he also had a twin sister, named Miriam. Hearing about his twin, he began to have vague memories of her. The memories were distorted, somewhat.

Balian could see Miriams face in his mind. A beautiful blonde little girl with eyes that sparkled when she laughed. They were inseparable. Balian's eyes welled with blood tears as he went through the pictures of her, in his mind. He asked Lyric where Miriam was. Lyric did not know, for she had not yet returned home. Balian wondered what had happened to her after their separation. He remembered vividly when Miriam was taken away by one of the evil women. Balian looked into Lyric's eyes then told him that they would try to find Miriam, his beloved twin sister.

Balian desperately needed to find Selene, to seek answers regarding what had happened all those years ago. Balian was angered that she had not told him of Godfrey, that he was the man that Balian should have called Father. Balian was still to this day, in search of one of his siblings, his youngest sister Amilee. He never stopped looking for her. Even when Balian was fighting in the Jerusalem, he looked for Amilee everywhere. Balian was now back home in the place of his early childhood. His true rightful home. The Black Kingdom. Balian didn't remember much of his family or the kingdom from when he were a small boy.

After reuniting with his mother, Balian began to remember missing pieces of his childhood. He found the place in his heart, that Balian thought was lost for all eternity. Although blessed and happy, there was still a great emptiness that filled his heart. The loss of his baby sister's, Amilee and Miriam. Balian knew they still existing. He could feel them. He had deep hopes that Miriam would remember him. Balian would find them. Balian's oath, "I will slaughter that man, Azazel LeStat whom took you and Miriam away from our family. Vengeance shall be mine, my sweet baby sisters."

Guy and Raynald are captured; Saladin executes Raynald, and then marches on Jerusalem, sparing Guy out of tradition but stating that he is not worthy of this. Lyric had only been back in the Black Kingdom for a short time. Lyric had been displaced from his family with The Order of the Dragon for many years. The old couple that raised him, were heartless and cruel in everything they did. Inflicting burns upon Lyric′s body for doing normal childlike things. Lyric grew up very quickly. Lyric never did anything to get into trouble in anyway, shape or form. The couple who raised him, he never considered his parents. He called them Mother and Father only to avoid the mindless tortures, that they liked to inflict upon him. Lyric never knew what his true heritage was, when he was growing up. His liking for blood, was always just another reason for the old couple to inflict more pain upon his tiny body. Burning him with hot embers upon lit cigarettes and often the ice blue flame upon the gas stove. Lyric couldn't wait until he was old enough to seek a safe harbor from the couple.

He tried several times to runaway from the heinous couple, only to find himself caught in bear traps and other heinous devices. He was always returned to them. Their farmland's were booby trapped with all sorts of intricately designed traps to catch Lyric every time he tried to run. Lyric began to map the vast acreages, knowing after trial and error exactly where the traps were located. Lyric kept a secret map drawn upon his closet wall in a red crayon. After a few years he finally knew the way out. He packed a few items inside of a shirt. He folded it up like a sack. One night during a full moon he jaunted through the well designed maze of traps. He finally reached the edge of the farm. On the outer perimeter, was a very high razor fence. He bared the deep cuts and gashes into his hands, to get away from the couple finally. The two whom dared call themselves parents.

Fleeing and never looking back, he walked into a dense wooded area. The mountains although beautiful, were yet another obstacle he had to endure. In those mountains he met a man named Balian Denali. He was kind, offering Lyric a place to stay to get out of the harsh elements. Balian told Lyric of his family. Lyric was drawn to his story like a moth to a flame. He listened to Balian tell of his life and a great fire that had happened. That he too were like Lyric in a way. He had been kidnapped and removed from his family as well. As Lyric listened to Balian speak of a long train ride with some evil women. Lyric looked into his kind brown eyes. "Balian? Balian... Is that you? Are you My brother Balian?" He looked intensely into the soft chocolate eyes of this man he had just met. "My last name is Denali, I think. I am Lyric Adam Denali. I have been in hell with some people for many years. Are you my brother? I once had an older brother with your same first name." He looked at him, awaiting an answer.

Sir AzaZel LeStat M+L Marian BK SH BE

"The Unforgettable Fire, Deal With The Devil"

Sir Azazel came back to the Black Kingdom from important travels, regarding business. When Azazel arrived at home, he found his wife Elizabeta had committed suicide. Azazel's anger took him over, turning him against everyone he knew. For years, he tried desperately to figure how to resurrect his beloved wife. He came in contact with the Sacred Order Of The Ancient One's, now known as The Sacred Order Of The Dragon. Kain the eldest of the Order, told Azazel if he would perform an ultimate betrayal against the Denali family, Kain would summon the Circle of Nine. The Elder Kain, promised Azazel, The Order would resurrect his deceased wife Elizabeta.

Although reluctant, Azazel went forth with the deal, that was presented to him by the elder Kain. Without hesitation, he set the Denali Estate a blaze, one treacherous Winter's night. Azazel kidnapped all of Conseiller Selene Denali's children, with plans of displacing them, just as Kain had ordered. Azazel did not know there was one sleeping babe left in the inferno; the eldest daughter of his very own cousin Black King Gage LeStat, the Black Princess Alessa LeStat. Her demise was not part of the deal. Alessa perished in the home.

A blaze engulfed the Estate so quickly, there was little time to react. He listened as Selene frantically searched for her kids. They had been playing a game of hide and seek. Black Princess Alessa was spending the night, in order to celebrate the birthday party of Selene's son Sir Lyric Denali's birthday. Selene could find no trace of her children or Gage's daughter. She believed they all must have gotten out as she had taught them to, if this were to ever happen. Her next step, was to contact Gage about the predicament. None of the children could be found anywhere in the white out of the storm.

The Denali children followed Azazel through the terrible blizzard. In the wake of his heinous deed, he ran into Sir Malachi LeStat. Azazel told his cousin Malachi about the Denali home, that it was a raging inferno. Malachi believed that Azazel was taking their young cousins to safety, he offered Azazel help with the situation. Azazel denied Malachi's assistance in the matter. Malachi walked through the storm puzzled as to where Selene might have been, perhaps she perished in the fire. With heavy heart, he walked towards the Denali Estate. Malachi, mourned Selene without knowing if she were existing or if she were dead. She had raised him and his sister's after their parents murder when they were younger.

Azazel took the children to the train station. He loaded the kids one by one into the passenger cars. Azazel waved goodbye to the Denali children as the train departed the station. Inside of the compartment were witches who had involvement with The Order. They were wicked and terrible women. Azazel felt mercy for the children for a moment, With a sinister smirk upon his face, he looked down at the one female child whom he did not board. The sparkling blue eyed, youngest daughter of Selene's, Amilee. Azazel looked down at the tiny four year old girl deeply into her icy blue gaze. He proceeded to tell her "Your name is now Marian. Do you understand? There are witches and monsters out to get you, I am your protector now and forever. Your family has all died in a horrible fire. I am so sorry sweetest one. My name is Sir Azazel LeStat, I mean you no harm, my little one."

Azazel took Marian to his modest abode. There he had a special bedroom, elegantly decorated for a little girl. Toys adorned the floor overflowing from a pinkish toy box. There were bright magenta curtains and a matching bed spread ensemble that he had specially picked out for his new protege. "Come look Marian, I have filled your closet with pretty dresses. You will look cute in all of them. I know you will grow to love it here. You will also grow to love me, just as much. Come now little one, let us begin. You have a lot to learn. More than you can fathom. Hell Marian, I think I might learn a few things from you as well, my little beautiful new daughter. The woman that you called Mama, has left this earth. She wanted me to raise you up. Selene wished that you would be one of the finest ladies of the Black Kingdom. This I promised your deceased Mother. I would most certainly do for the late Selene. Indeed, Marian. You will be the envy of the women folk that live in this and everywhere in the entire world. Would you like that?" He patted her upon the head. "It is late my sweetheart. It is time for bed. Would you like to hear a bedtime story tonight?"

He knew he had done wrong in taking the child. There was no way to bring Elizabeta back from the grave. "If I can't bring her back. Those bastards promised me they would. They never fulfilled their end of the deal. I risked everything, for what? I swear someday Kain's head will be mine, he and his beloved Circle Of Nine. I should have known better than to make a deal with the Devil himself. Kain Sirelus, you have no idea what I have planned. Nor, will you ever. If you couldn't deliver on your promise, I will create a replica of Elizabeta myself. I will groom the Denali child to walk, talk and act precisely as Elizabeta did. Marian, will never remember the Denali's I will damned well see to that. Even if Selene herself were to lay her oculars on her. She won't have a clue that she was her beloved little girl Amilee. Amilee, well that is the very last time that name shall ever cross my lips. She is now and forever will be known as Marian LeStat."
