"Lambs For The Slaughter" (The Past) Belmont Clan/The Sacred Order Blog

In 1423, the Belmont clan was combing the lands for vampires. They were a family of noble blood, also they were ruthless Vampire Hunters. The Belmont's were some of the best in the lands. They always were contacted for jobs, to rid places of the unwanted demonic foes. Leon couldn't remember how they ended up residing on a lovely piece of unclaimed land. They liked what they saw and they claimed the land as theirs. The family had built a home there, large enough to house them all.

The Belmont family was large, Mostly men and only one girl, was born into the bloodline. Katerina, was the only natural born blood sister, the Belmont brothers had. The family consisted of brothers, cousins, and a few uncles. Mostly men with the exception of Katerina. Leon was unsure why he didn't have any sisters besides Katerina. The Belmont's stood strong together in any situation, they were in. Good or bad, they always prevailed.

Leon was unaware the family had any enemies. Elder Kain Sirelus of "The Sacred Order Of The Dragon." Kain was a powerful vampire. Older than most, that they had encountered. Leon had only heard rumors of him. Why would they be enemies with this group of ferals? Never in Leon's memory, had any of the Belmont's ever encountered a Sirelus. The name wasn't even familiar. Soon Leon and his family would find out why they had been targeted by the Sirelus clan.

The Belmont family consisted of Leon; Richter, Katerina, Erik, Sebastian, Dane, Rehan, Juslain, Ashtyn, Rylan, Joachim, Trevor, Jaysen, Simon, Malus, Baxter, Juste, Connor, and Trevor Ramos. They had a very young girl that resided with them named Maria Renard. She was an orphan whos family had been killed by vampires. They all lived together, in the home they named the Belmont Estate. Content for the most part, they all got along fairly well. Once in a blue moon, some stupid quarrel would erupt. But their family was strong, most times things of ridiculous matters were quickly forgotten.

One Winter's night all mayhem erupted quickly. The Estate was attacked by The Sacred Order Of The Dragon, Kain and Aria Sirelus with the Serafan Circle of Nine. A group of elders, feral and very powerful vampires. Things happened so quickly. The ambush was quick. they attacked the Belmont's as they slept in their beds.

Leon awoke, he heard a ruckus coming from down the hallway. He saw Juste being attacked. A member of the Serafan Circle had him in his grasp. Juste was being drained of his life's blood. Leon quickly grabbed his whip, wooden daggers and some holy water, then went down the hall. The Vampire had obviously saw Leon coming, He released Juste from his grip, then vanished into thin air. Leon Ran quickly to check the on others.

Screams were heard coming from down the hallway, it was Katerina. Leon ran to Katerina's room as quickly as he could. Again, it was too late. Katerina had her fate sealed by the Serafan Nine. She lay there in a pool of blood. Leon saw Maria in the corner, she had survived the attack. She had been hiding under the bed. He motioned for her to stay quiet and enter a closet. Richter came into the room to see his twin, had been brutally attacked. Tears welled in his eyes as his beautiful sister lay there motionless.

Leon assured Richter that Maria was unharmed, that she was now in hiding amongst Katerina's dresses, in the closet. Further down the halls, screams for help and pleas for mercy could be heard. Rylan, Renan and Trevor all were being attacked. How many vampires were in the house? Leon thought to himself. He ran into the foyer where Kain Sirelus was. He whipped him with a fury with a whip infused with Alchemy. Splattered Holy water upon him. None of this, had any effect upon Kain. The feral vampire just smirked, then came towards Leon.

Leon turned away from Kain then ran as fast as he could to try to save the others. To his horror, He saw that Aria Sirelus, was attacking Richter. His brother Richter, couldn't break free from her sexual charms. He had been lured into her grasp by trickery. Kain's wife was Richter's undoing. She left him in a large pool of blood, then turned towards Leon. Aria was beautiful. She had hypnotic charm. She turned to get to Leon, in the same manner that she had done to Richter.

Once again Leon was in the hallways. He could hear his brothers screaming. One by one he could hear their screams no more, they were being taken out one by one. Dane, Connor, and Juslain, had been trapped in the family billiards room. There were so many vampires there. This was insane Leon thought. There had to have been over fifteen in the Belmont estate. There was no escape, from these monsters. The things the Belmont's hated so much, they were becoming, one by one. The serafan's attacks were swift and ruthless.

Jaysen, Simon, Malus, Baxter, and Rehan were all down in the parlor they had been awakened by the ruckus that was occurring, Armed with their barrage of gear, they went to take these vampires down once and for all. Rehan cracked his whip against a hallway lantern to bring attention to himself. The five were ready to attack. One of the Serafan vampires rushed Rehan, Rehan doused him with holy water then without mercy, whipped the vampire to death. For now, the brothers were safe.

The brothers all went into the main living quarters, They were surrounded, The cracking of whips laced with alchemy, were striking the herd of vampires that had assembled in the Living room. Simon, had one in his sights. They were in the corner of the main room. Simon attacked, with all he had in him. He was going to save his family. However Simon was struck from the back, by Kain. Kain drained Simon's life blood, then turned to the brothers. "Vae Victus" Kain yelled, then a frenzy got completely out of control. The four remaining brothers, didn't stand a chance against the hoard of vampires that Kain had summoned. None of the brothers, survived the attack.

Erik, Sebastian, Ashtyn, and Joachim were fighting the vampires within different rooms throughout the estate, This was a slaughter, Joachim thought. There was no way to beat these monsters. Their alchemy and their weapons were useless against the hoard. Joachim fought with all he had in him. He cornered one of the Serafan. He lashed his whip over and over. Tossing his bottle of holy water all over the vampire. Joachim delivered a final blow with a wooden stake through the vampires heart.

Leon was still fighting the vampires that had him cornered, there was no way out. He continued to strike his whip and throw wooden daggers. A couple of the Serafan dropped dead, from the wooden stakes. Feral Aria Sirelus appeared. Leon was caught off guard. She lured him in; her eyes were hypnotic, she was beautiful, she had him in her grip. Leon tried to shrug off her sexual innuendoes, It was no use, she was now with in inches from him. She lunged at Leon and bit him. Leon tried to fight her off of him. There was no use, she had done him in. Leon lay upon the marble floor.

Joachim and Trevor Ramos were the final two Belmont's that remained. They wandered around the estate looking for the Serafan. Joachim wanted Kain. He wanted to kill that bastard. He didn't know why their family had been brutally attacked by the Sacred Order, but Kain was in his sights. Joachim climbed on top of a bookshelf waiting Kain's arrival.

The vampire appeared. Joachim and Trevor Ramos both attacked with a fury. Whipping Kain nearly to death. The two had Kain where they wanted him. Trevor Ramos doused Kain's face with Holy water, causing it to burn. Joachim took out a wooden dagger. He was going to pierce Kain's heart. The vampire was too strong for the brothers. Kain arose from the floor, floating above them. Laughing then he lashed out at the brother's one by one. Three other vampires entered the room. One had Joachim by the neck so quickly, he didn't know what hit him. Joachim was attacked and left for dead.

Trevor Ramos, was the final sibling left alive, in the estate. He had no idea Maria was hiding in Katerina's closet. She was safe there. A battle erupted between Trevor Ramos and four of the Serafan. He slashed his whip as hard and fast as he could, he pierced one of the Serafan in the heart, The vampire fell to his death. Trevor was not going out without the fight of his life. He struck his whip. It wrapped around the neck, of one of the Serafan elders.

Trevor pulled the vampire towards him with his whip. "How dare you do this to my family. Who are you? What have we done to deserve this?" The Elder looked at him in the eyes, then told him "You killed Kain's Mother, Don't you remember? Your family ganged up on her and attacked her without haste. She died at your families hands. Kain wants revenge, and it appears he got it." The Feral laughed. "You wont be dead. You will be walking dead, like us. Soon they will all awaken, then be what they hate the most. One of us." Trevor Ramos was lured into his gaze, he dropped the whip. In came Aria Sirelus. She charmed Trevor with her beauty, Then bit Trevor Ramos upon his neck draining him of his life's blood.

All the Belmont clan lay in distress. Little Maria listened for the Serafan to leave the Estate then tended to each one of the Belmont clan one by one. Giving them what they needed to survive, she had drained her pet kitten of it's blood then went through the estate, giving each member of the family drops of sustenance to awaken. Maria knew what they would all be, Was she safe? She didn't know. All she knew was the faster she could deliver the kittens blood to her family, the better their chance for survival. She did what she had to do. Maria went from room to room, feeding her family her beloved deceased pet's life's blood.

Maria went into Katerina's room. She looked at her as if she were afraid that Katerina would awaken at anytime, a full fledged vampire. Maria poured blood from the kittens paw, into her mouth. She sat there upon the bed awaiting Katerina to move. Had the bloodletting worked? Was the kittens blood enough to save them all? Only time would tell. One thing Maria knew, that once bitten by a Vampire, blood must be given to the victim, or they would die. She would rather have her family, a group of vampires, rather than a hoard of dead Vampire hunters.

Maria’s POV - Memories Unfolded

The Present

Maria sat in the quiet of the Belmont Estate Garden under a Willow Tree. It’s shade providing her with some protection from the winter sun. On her lap she held a leather journal, bound by a leather string. Its pages made from parchment with her scribblings inside that as a child were almost eligible. Except for one date. A date that would never be forgotten, a date that as a young child, held so much guilt for her. She opened her journal to the page and looked at it, with no feeling or thought going through her mind. It was a blank page. And thereafter for many days there were no written words to remind her of how she felt. In some ways this made her feel rotten. Surely even vampires had feelings. In her memory banks as a human, she could have remembered but now being a nocturnal creature those days, those feelings, were just like the page in front of her. Empty. In some ways she felt free, free of all feeling. But. It came at a willing cost. A selfish cost. And now she was one of them. Those fiends that killed her family that made her do the actions of that night, which were in essence the very reason she became what she detested.

Her eyes began to well and a blood tear trickled down her cheek. But they weren’t tears of sorrow or anything in relation to her family. They were tears of hatred for herself. If only Katerina would let her turn to dust. Then perhaps she would find some peace.

But in that moment of hatred for herself and the blood tears that she wept so suddenly; her journal now became stained with blood that spelt relief. Maria was not prepared for what came next. She let out a scream. Memories of that wintery night came flooding back like a tidal wave, her sobbing continued. Maria hated herself so much she would put herself through the pain of that terrible night. Feelings of guilt hit her like a sledgehammer. But it didn’t stop there and so she ran. Ran out of the garden, her journal dropped on the ground near where she had sat, she ran into the forest, never wanting to stop, never wanting to feel. But in her hatred, she had opened a door. Enraged she ran into a tree headfirst, only to dent the tree trunk but enough to make her stop. No breath released from her and her emotions felt off kilter. She wanted to get some semblance of control back but it was too late. There was no point in fighting what was to come, Maria let herself slump down onto the forest in a crumpled heap, still, lifeless, her eyes closed as if asleep.

The Past ~ Silence of the Lambs..

Maria’s landscape changed, she was inside her mind, she was a child again, sat on Katerina’s bed, darning. Needlework had been one of Maria’s past times back then. Most noble women would darn or do things that were deemed as ‘lady-like’.

Being born into an aristocratic family, Maria was home educated. Her mother insisted upon it, regardless of how males viewed women in those days, her mother saw something in Maria that would later confirm her suspicions. Both parents had power and wealth beyond measure along with hidden secrets, and so Maria had a slightly different upbringing to others. Unfortunately for her parents it was too late. They were killed by vampires and after that, Maria remained in the family home of the Belmonts. Distant cousins to the Renard’s. She was only young herself, ten and two and by all accounts Maria had already felt a disdain towards such evil. And regardless of what her new family warned: she began to train as a huntress. Revenge was what she wanted. And one day when she were old enough, she would join her brothers on a hunt and get her revenge. But that wasn’t to be.

Her landscape changed yet again, and she was staring out of Katerina’s bedroom window, snow had begun to fall, Winter was in full swing. Katerina made a joke about throwing snowballs at their brothers, echoes of giggles spun in her mind, but they were cut short. The scene changed as a feral vampire burst into Katerina’s room. Katerina pushed her out of harm’s way. A mistake that Katerina would pay for. Maria watched in silent horror unable to scream, as the vampire held Katerina up by her neck, strangling her. Gurgles of screams came from Katerina and Maria hid beneath her bed where her kitten was. She cuddled it tight as the screams were replaced by silence. From beneath the bed, Maria saw Katerina’s lifeless body in a pool of blood, the vampire still there, making a hideous noise. Her heart raced. Where was Leon? where were her brothers? Were they all dead? She waited until the vampire left the room and crawled out from under Katerina’s bed. She stood over Katerina’s body, tears formed in her eyes, she began to sob quietly. Down the hallway she could hear shouting from her brothers. More screams of agony. She did not understand why the vampire left her alive.

Leon entered Katerina’s room and Maria looked up at him, scared, sobbing, holding onto her kitten. “She’s gone”, her heart was broken. Leon ordered Maria to hide in Katerina’s closet where she remained until everything was silent. She no longer heard the cracking of their whips, and them fighting for their lives, everything was silent as though time had stood still. Her heartbeat fast and she opened the closet door, peering outward. The kitten escaped Maria’s arms and she whispered, “NO! Come back!”. She followed the kitten out into the hallway, where it stopped. The group of vampires that had attacked her family had left. She looked back at Katerina. There was nothing she could do to bring back her family to life, not to their former selves anyway. There was only one thing that assured their longevity.

She swooped her kitten back up and into her arms, she had to make them into vampires. She had no choice. The very thought of losing her family outweighed the fear of them being vampires. But what if they came for her? What if they became feral like the vampire that killed Katerina. His face an illusion staring back at her, his eyes black like coal, menacing with rage, his fangs sharp like wolves. She closed her eyes, grimacing at the illusion that presented itself to her and the image faded into the recess of her mind.

A tear formed and she placed a small kiss on her kitten’s head. “I’m sorry for what I am about to do, please forgive me”. The kitten simply meowed back at her as if she knew. The decision made, a decision that would lay guilt upon Maria for the rest of her human life, all for her own selfish gains. After the slaughtering of her own parents, she did not want to lose her adopted siblings. But this was the only way.

She went back into Katerina’s room and sat by her side. For a moment her eyes glazed over, she took out the pin that held her hair up. She shook her head, letting her blonde waves fall down either side of her face. Taking her kitten’s paw, she pierced it. The kitten meowed retracting her paw but Maria firmly held it over Katerina’s mouth, drop by drop its blood trickled upon her unmoving lips. Maria hoped that it would sustain her enough to bring her back. She waited. After a few minutes she saw Katerina’s fingers move. She moved back, heart racing, she ran to each of her brothers to give them the remainder of her kitten’s life. Hoping, praying that they would forgive her for bringing them back as vampires. But in her selfish thoughts, it was better that than being dead. Poor Maria, such a heavy weight to have on her shoulders for all this time.

A blood tear trickled down her cheek and she opened her eyes, relief swept over her, she had faced the past and the door now closed. What now for Maria? Revenge for her parents’ death and revenge for what the Serafan Nine did to her beloved Belmont siblings. She understood that her actions were just that of a confused child. And in her own understanding she began to forgive herself.

High Priestess Aria Laine Sirelus M+L Kain Sacred Order Of The Dragon

The war within. ( Aria's reply )

Aria remembered that night clear as day. The day the Belmonts had killed one of kain's family. She knew that this would set him off for revenge. Staying by his side. As she would even in death. Aria knew that this would be the war of the centuries. Calling upon their Goddess Adrianna Blackrayne for support.

Aria knew Adrianna would do their bidding. She had felt it. She had pray to the goddess to make Kain more powerful then he already was. The demoness would be of service to them in this crisis of need. Aria knew she had the spell on Ritcher.

She had felt it in her being. As she turned to look at Leon. Aria also knew that it may or may not work on Leon like it did to Ritcher. Aria smiled as she heard her mate scream. Watching more vampires coming to play. Once the vampires started attacking the Belmont clan. Aria knew they had the upper hand.

The Goddess had watched over them. Making sure that Kain would die by Leon Belmonts hands. Aria made sure of that. It would take alot to kill Kain. Even as skilled as Leon Belmont is. He's no match for Kain.

Aria prayed to their goddess for assurance. She smelled the blood of the Belmont clan. She could tell they had the upper hand in the war. She was just waiting for Selune and Morrison to show their ugly faces. Then it would have been a still mate
