"Silent Hell"
Gage sat at his desk, he was scanning over a myriad
of documents strewn across his desk. He sighed as the paperwork
overwhelmed him, he had not been in his office for quite some time.
Flipping the pages over one by one, he had come across a picture of
Rose. It had been a long time since he had gazed upon her face. What
was a picture of her doing upon his desk? Out of all of the women he
had wed, why her? Why now? Was there unfinished business he had with
her? Was it Alessa? Was she summoning him to go into the underworld
known as Silent Hill? Rose certainly would not seek Gage's help. She
had remarried, why would she need anything thing from him?
Alessa
had died centuries ago in the Denali Estate fire. The evil that
resided within her had gone to Silent Hill. She would occasionally
torment her sisters, escaping that realm from time to time. How she did
it, no one knew. Once in the chasm of that awful place, no one was
ever allowed to escape. Yet, Alessa always found a way to slip from the
labyrinth, to toy with the family. Alessa blamed Gage and Selene for
her death. She died in the inferno that had engulfed the Denali home.
Alessa was angered that neither Selene or Gage had the courage to face
the flames head on. To save her from a grueling young vampire's
demise. This would haunt Gage and Selene everyday of their existences.
The
Claybury Institute was centrally located within the middle of that
unforgiving landscape. Gage had the asylum erected years back for the
beaten, the broken and the damned. He had hired two psychiatrists to
practice there. Dr. Dash McNamara and Dr Lasse Hansen. Their ways of
treating the mind were brilliant, yet also sometimes cruel, Gage had
heard rumors of their practice. Some of the patients were healed then
released, some to reside there for eternity. Gage had even heard
through the grape vine that Dash, would often seek sexual pleasures from
his female residents. This sickened Gage to the bottom of his core.
Perhaps, it was time to go to that horrible place, once and for all.
Time to face Dr Dash with the blasphemy he had heard about him.
Gage
picked up his cell phone, scrolling through his contacts, he came
across a name, he had not muttered for years. "Antigone" Gage was
conflicted. Should he reach out to her or not? Their relationship had
broken, awhile back over something so stupid he couldn't even remember
why. Why her number was still in his phone, was somewhat of a mystery
to him. He pondered for few minutes. He found solace in reaching out
to her for help.
He touched the screen gently upon her name the
line had connected. Ringing... He waited, wondering what she would say
when she heard his voice. His pride was the greatest of his
weaknesses. He hung up as soon as it went to voicemail. He tried
several more times, losing his nerve more and more each and every time.
He hoped she would feel his presence. Like she always had done in the
past, perhaps she would seek him out. Only time would tell.
He
scrolled through his contacts again. Selene's name appeared. It was
time for them to make peace with the past, so the conflicted Alessa
could rest, once and for all. The line connected. "Selene, It's Gage.
I'm afraid to tell you this, but we must venture into the bowels of
Silent Hill. We need to try to make some type of amends with my
daughter, Alessa. I think she has been here, yet once again fooling
with my belongings. I feel the child is trying to call upon us, to
either help her with an enigma or to finally to confront us about her
death." He listened to Selene from her end of the line. She seemed
able and ready to accompany the Black King to the dark chasm, of which
no one dare venture.
After he ans Selene had finished
conversing, he promptly contacted Emma. He knew Emma was a calming
influence upon his children. Perhaps she could help, being the savior
of Storybrooke. Her help with this situation would greatly be
appreciated. Emma always seemed to know the right way, also the right
time, to confront anyone. Emma had a way with words and actions, that
made one feel at peace. Perhaps, she was precisely what Alessa needed.
If she were the one summoning him. At this point he was unsure. He
promptly called Emma, then asked for her help. His little sister
brought him peace. He knew he would need that, facing what they were
going into. But what exactly were they going in to?
He continued
to flip through the paperwork, now intrigued with what else he may
discover within the large pile in front of him. As he turned each paper
over the more he wanted a clue as to what was exactly going on. He ran
across a raving beauty in the paperwork. It was Morrison Branch's twin
sister Kathrina. Oh. how he wished they could be together, he knew
Morrison would never tolerate it. Their families were enemies. "Too
bad" Gage whispered aloud. "Such a beauty; such a tragedy and loss, a
waste really, that he could not have her at his side, as his soulmate."
His longing for her, began to fade. When he realized that it was
madness, to fuck with the wrong people. Morrison would never allow his
beloved twin Kathrina; to entertain Gage, let alone be anything else to
him, besides an enemy, "such a pity" Gage thought to himself.
He
took one final look at Kathrina's picture before flipping it over. He
placed his lips to his finger tips then lightly placed them upon her
lips. Farewell, my obsidian orchid. How beautiful we could have been
with one another. If your brother was not in my way, I would have you to
myself. But since he is. Tis' a pipe dream to think of us, in that
way. He frowned, then flipped over her picture.
Parchment
after parchment, he fumbled through the documents. Then he came across a
picture of a woman with dark long obsidian hair. Who was this? He had
never laid eyes upon her before. An enigma to him, he studied the
conjures of her face. The color of her eyes, blue as emeralds, that
longing stare. She seemed to be talking to him, without saying anything
at all. Who was she, Gage thought. Why is a woman, I've never met, in
with my documents? Where was she located? Did Dr, Dash have her in
the asylum? Was she trying to telepathically connect with him. He
blanked his mind then listened to the silence for a few minutes.
Nothing. "Hmm... Why are you in here? Whom are you? I must find out,
for you are not in here for nothing. I shall seek you out, while my
posse and I comb the labyrinth of Silent Hill. This I promise you, Oh
stranger, that intrigues me, beyond all words."
The hour was now
ten past two a.m. Gage was still engrossed in what he would find within
the pile, So he continued to look. He turned over a picture of Winter
holding hands with his Mother. He had never laid eyes on this portrait
before. Winter was around ten years of age in this. Ayumi seemed full
of bliss, which was very unlike her, when was this picture taken, why
was it in here. He knew he would have to share this with the both of
them. It was just so macabre, to see them in the pile of papers.
What
did this all mean? Gage wondered. He was not at all looking forward to
going to that horrible place. Let alone, taking the party that seemed
to be unfolding before his eyes. He, himself; Selene, Emma, Winter and
Ayumi and possibly Antigone, for she appeared to him almost
immediately. But why?
Was Selene going to find her long lost
Amilee there? The child she had lost in the fire. Amilee, would be
close to thirty now. Selene could walk right past Amilee and never know
it were the daughter that she had been looking for, for all of those
long distressing and painful years. That was horrible, Gage thought to
himself. All of this was. He had a bad, bad, feeling regarding all of
this. He placed his hands upon the papers. It was enough for one
night. His mind now dancing with thoughts of dread. What were they
going to find there? Whom and why. he wondered.
